FAQs

You have made a great decision! Joining us could not be any easier. We have a dedicated New Applications department who will introduce themselves and manage your application every step of the way. If you have all the necessary documents, you could be ready to work for us immediately!

A new applicant can register for a call back, register their details on a brief registration form or download documents and return them back to us. Our dedicated Applications team will fast track your application to shift allocation as soon as you can supply the necessary documentation.
All trained nurses must have a minimum of 6 months experience in UK hospitals unless they are specifically looking to work at nursing homes, where they will need a minimum of 6 months experience in UK Nursing Homes. All healthcare assistants must have at least 6 months experience working in the UK.
This advantage is further increased by our high fill-rates as clients, not only choose us as the primary supplier but also offer the bulk of the shifts to fill to us.

WNA Healthcare does not only offer a large amount of flexible shifts to its large pool of staff, we also offer the complete service in terms of achieving and maintaining compliance. We offer an in-house Occupational Health Service, DBS Processing and both Practical & Online training (Mandatory and Specialist courses) in a modern and equipped room.
If you are a nurse, you should already be Clinical Observations trained however you are welcome to attend our training to refresh your knowledge. For all Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers looking to work in hospitals, if you have not attended and passed this training then we have a in-house course called Clinical Observations including Blood Sugars, which you may attend.

We run this course regularly so you should be ready to work in hospitals in no time!
Some of our healthcare assistants and support workers do come to us without much hospital experience. However we are able to offer training and placements to build up confidence and skills. Then we can start looking at moving you onto the bigger hospitals.

As an Investors in People accredited company, we always look to support and develop our staff to a higher level and to help achieve personal goals. This can be done through processes such as appraisals, feedback forms and additional training, from both internal and external sources.
The recruitment process can be achieved within days if the Application pack, DBS, references and mandatory training have been completed. An Enhanced DBS takes on average 5 working days to come back. However if you are on the DBS Update Service, the check is instant.
Here at WNA Healthcare we will always do whatever we can to reduce the costs of you joining including accepting all current up to date, recognised training certificates. We run many great schemes for new applicants. At the moment, if you do 200 hours of work within 6 months of joining, you will receive back any starter costs that you have paid e.g. DBS, Uniform, training and ID badge.

Our aim is to make joining WNA as quick, efficient and free as possible! We can get you signed up, processed and out working in a number of days, if we have all the correct compliance documents!

Members rejoining (depending on if there is any outstanding compliance) can start back working immediately! Amazing! With a Joiner/Referrer package of up to £500, now is the best time to join!
If you do not have all of your training certificates, then WNA run a great Training Programme for mandatory training using a combination of live practical courses and eLearning courses. We only ask you to do the applicable courses when you are unable to produce your own up to date certificates. This means that you'll only have to pay for the training you need and this will then enable us to send you out to every establishment. If members complete their Mandatory training within 28 days of subscription, they will receive back 50% of the payments made! This is one of the many schemes we run, as part of our efforts to keep costs down for members.

WNA Healthcare continuously works hard to make sure we provide the best training for all our members, ensuring that it is not just informative but also aligned to Skills for Health. Feedback forms are completed at the end of each session and trainers are made aware of all comments. We always look to employ experienced trainers and between all our trainers, we can offer over 40 different courses. We also use high quality training companies for the more specialised courses e.g. recently we ran courses from Venepuncture & Cannulation to Tracheostomy and Emergency 1st Aid at Work.
If you work on the bank at a certain establishment, you cannot take agency shifts there with us or any other agency. Some establishments will have stricter rules about changing agencies and waiting periods (sort of like gardening leave). Please contact us and we can give you all the relevant information if you are concerned or have any further questions about this subject. We will always see what we can do to help with these situations as we have built up strong relationships with all our establishments.
You are not required to travel far but to increase your potential workload and possible experiences we will always ask our members to be flexible. There have been members in the past who have initially rejected establishments as they are a few miles further but once we have had many members be surprised with some of the establishments that were a little bit further away and now only ask for those establishments!

We also cater for block bookings if the preferred establishments are a little bit too far away for one days work. Please Contact Us about all of our different establishments, shifts and block bookings.
There are four ways to update your availability:

  • Log into the members area and update it on your own personal calendar. (Note: You cannot delete any availability once a shift has been confirmed)

  • Call us and let us know and well update it for you

  • Email us and we'll update it for you

  • Text us and well update it for you

Agency work is flexible and you choose how often you would like to work by regularly updating your availability. Some healthcare professionals use us to top up their NHS hours, some work full-time for us, some are seasonal and there are others who work ad-hoc hours when it suits them. The choice is yours!
WNA Healthcare is constantly running Joiner/Referrer Bonus schemes so that we can keep adding high quality and professional staff to our pool of healthcare professionals. Our current scheme rewards Joiner/Referrer up to £500 each time! There is no limit to the amount you can earn as a referrer! (* Terms & Conditions Apply).
